 Jamie Anne: The Singer

Bentz, who grew up in Arnprior, Ontario, fell in love with the stage at three-years-old and hasn’t strayed far from it since. Her first public performances were those at her local church. Gradually, she moved to charity events, talent shows, musical theatre productions, and competitions.

At nine-years-old, she quickly gained attention with her animated personality and energetic stage presence.  This drove the young singer to take on bigger stages, ranging from theatres in Ottawa, Ontario, to stages and TV events in Hollywood, California.

She used techniques gained from formal training under Stacey Ingrey and the Royal Conservatory of Music to experiment with classical, jazz, blues, pop, and even and punk-rock. Eventually, she found her own unique sound in pop/country, a genre that she grew up listening to.

Jamie Anne: The Songwriter

In her early years, Bentz struggled to fit in. She attributes her passion for songwriting to the time she spent as an outsider.

She started writing novels, finishing her first 150-page story when she was just eight-years-old. In the second grade, she published her first poem.  It was around this time that her parents bought an old, out-of-tune piano. Shortly after, Bentz taught herself to play three chords and wrote her first song.

Bentz discovered a small but mighty fan-base after the independent release of her 2014 EP, "Clearly Undercover."  Four years later, with the encouragement of her fans, she returned to the studio to work on her sophomore EP, "After the Smoke Clears."

Having obtained her Master of Science in Nursing, Bentz spends her days advancing healthcare knowledge as a nurse researcher. She continues to enjoy gigging on her nights off from work.
